The ju­nior cen­ter back played a key role in three wins last week that boosted the Gaels (5-1-1) to No. 1 in The Bal­ti­more Sun’s Top15 and­into a tie for first place in the Mary­land In­ter­scholas­tic Ath­letic As­so­ci­a­tion A Con­fer­ence. Pri­mar­ily a force on de­fense, St. Martin also had a goal and two as­sists in three wins. He scored the win­ning goal in last Wed­nes­day’s 1-0 up­set of then-No. 1 Calvert Hall, which had been No. 7 na­tion­ally. He also had an as­sist in a 2-1win over Arch­bishop Spald­ing and set up the first goal in a 2-0 win over John Car­roll. He has two goals and two as­sists this fall, but has been most in­stru­men­tal in Mount Saint Joseph’s post­ing four shutouts and al­low­ing just five goals. ABal­ti­more Celtic Soc­cer Club vet­eran, St. Martin has a 4.2 GPA and is draw­ing at­ten­tion from Di­vi­sion I col­leges.
