Kelly Wesolowski, Here­ford, cross coun­try

In her first cross coun­try sea­son, the se­nior has sim­ply shined. On Satur­day, she won her first race, the Spiked Shoe In­vi­ta­tional at McDaniel, to lead the Bulls to a sec­ond-place fin­ish be­hind Penn­syl­va­nia’s Strath Haven. Wesolowski cov­ered the 5,000-me­ter course in a time of 18 min­utes, 25 sec­onds — a course record — to claim a 37-sec­ond win over Arch­bishop Spald­ing’s Lacey Eden. On Sept. 17, at Du­laney’s Barn­hart In­vi­ta­tional, Wesolowski fin­ished sec­ond to lead the Bulls to the team win. It was her first cross coun­try race. In her fresh­man year, she played soc­cer and com­peted in track and field, earn­ing All-Metro sec­ond-team hon­ors in in­door. A foot in­jury cost Wesolowski her sopho­more soc­cer sea­son.
