Brazilian defender Elton joins Blast
The Blast signed Brazilian native Elton Lexandro de Oliveira Santos on Thursday to bolster its defense. A 31-year-old who has played professional outdoor soccer, Elton has spent the past two years in Romania, playing for Liga I’s CS Gaz Metan Medias. “Elton is a quality player with the technical ability to come in and have an immediate impact on our team and help us win games,” Blast coach Danny Kelly said in a news release. The Blast also announced that it will hold open tryouts Oct. 8-9 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Southeast Regional Recreation Center on North Point Boulevard. The home opener will be Nov. 11 against the Milwaukee Wave.
