Af­ter go­ing 4-10 last sea­son, the No. 6 Ga­tors (7-1) have emerged as prime con­tenders in the In­ter­scholas­tic Ath­letic As­so­ci­a­tion of Mary­land A Con­fer­ence this sea­son, and Tucker is a big rea­son for that. Last week, the se­nior out­side hit­ter was in­stru­men­tal in two IAAM wins to put the Ga­tors in first place with a 6-0 record. On Sept. 27, Tucker fin­ished with 28 kills, 12 digs, one block and one ace as St. Paul’s up­set then-No. 4 Notre Dame Prep, 25-19, 25-2, 22-25, 25-14. Last Wed­nes­day, the Ga­tors beat John Car­roll, 25-23, 25-10, 25-17, with Tucker lead­ing the way with 20 kills and 11 digs. Tucker is av­er­ag­ing five kills per set for the sea­son. In mid-Septem­ber, she was named to the All-McDonogh Tour­na­ment team.
