Apartments start to rise on former Haussner’s site
A new apartment building has started rising on the site of the former Haussner’s restaurant in Highlandtown. Garver Development Co. expects Highland Haus to be complete in about a year.
The six-story building is slated to have 65 market-rate apartments — many of them one-bedroom units — with parking and retail. The units likely will start at about $1,350, said Peter Z. Garver, president at Garver Development, which is working with Taylor Property Group on the project.
Haussner’s operated in the Eastern Avenue location for 73 years before closing in 1999. good Marshall Airport in November with daily flights from Hagerstown and Altoona, Pa., the commuter airline announced Thursday.
Service from Hagerstown Regional Airport to Baltimore will start Nov. 19. Service also will start that day from Altoona-Blair County Airport in Altoona to Baltimore. Fares start at $29 each way, and tickets are on sale at the airline’s website, www.iFly Southern.com.
