Two killed by car af­ter fight­ing in road­way

Two peo­ple were killed af­ter they were hit by a Honda Civic late Satur­day while fight­ing in the mid­dle of a Howard County road, po­lice said. Po­lice are try­ing to iden­tify one of the vic­tims, who was not car­ry­ing iden­ti­fi­ca­tion. She was de­scribed by po­lice as an African-Amer­i­can trans­gen­der in­di­vid­ual in her mid-20s with shoul­der­length black hair and a wrist tat­too, “Sina.” Of­fi­cers be­lieve she is from Philadel­phia. The other vic­tim was iden­ti­fied as Delcy Martinez Her­nan­dez, 18, of Elkridge, who died at the hos­pi­tal. They were both struck about 11:15 p.m. in Jes­sup. The 2002 Civic was trav­el­ing south on Washington Boule­vard and hit them near Port Cap­i­tal Drive, Howard County po­lice said. Wit­nesses told po­lice the two were fight­ing on the ground in the travel lanes. The driver of the Civic, an Elkridge man, and a Ca­tonsville woman rid­ing in the car were not in­jured in the crash.
