Two killed by car after fighting in roadway
Two people were killed after they were hit by a Honda Civic late Saturday while fighting in the middle of a Howard County road, police said. Police are trying to identify one of the victims, who was not carrying identification. She was described by police as an African-American transgender individual in her mid-20s with shoulderlength black hair and a wrist tattoo, “Sina.” Officers believe she is from Philadelphia. The other victim was identified as Delcy Martinez Hernandez, 18, of Elkridge, who died at the hospital. They were both struck about 11:15 p.m. in Jessup. The 2002 Civic was traveling south on Washington Boulevard and hit them near Port Capital Drive, Howard County police said. Witnesses told police the two were fighting on the ground in the travel lanes. The driver of the Civic, an Elkridge man, and a Catonsville woman riding in the car were not injured in the crash.
