Mo­tor­cy­clist, 26, crit­i­cally in­jured in High­land crash

A 26-year-old mo­tor­cy­clist was crit­i­cally in­jured in a crash in High­land Sun­day after­noon, How- ard County po­lice said. Robert Michael Kessler Foster of Sav­age was driv­ing a Yamaha R6S mo­tor­cy­cle west­bound on Route 216 near Hall Shop Road to­ward a red light when he lost con­trol and the bike crossed into the op­po­site lane and hit a Hyundai Santa Fe head-on, po­lice said. He was taken to the Univer­sity of Maryland Shock Trauma Cen­ter, where he is listed in crit­i­cal con­di­tion, po­lice said. The driver of the Hyundai, Daniel Arthur Hard­nock, 43, of Gaithers­burg, was un­in­jured, po­lice said. Po­lice have not given a cause for the ac­ci­dent. The in­ter­sec­tion was closed for about an hour and a half af­ter the crash, po­lice said.
