Cleveland is a cut above: Indians go up 3-0 on Jays

Baltimore Sun - - SPORTS -

Cleveland starter Trevor Bauer and his injured finger couldn’t make it through the first inning Monday night. That didn’t stop the Indians from moving within one win of their first pennant since 1997.

Bauer was removed from Game 3 of the American League Championship Series after blood began dripping from his right pinkie, which the right-hander cut on a drone last week, forcing him to miss Game 2. No problem. Six Cleveland relievers combined for 25 outs and held the host Toronto Blue Jays to just five hits, Jason Kipnis hit a go-ahead home run in the sixth inning and the Indians won, 4-2, for a 3-0 series lead.
