No. 13 Reser­voir de­feats No. 2 Howard in vol­ley­ball

No. 13 Reser­voir started a new vol­ley­ball win­ning streak Tues­day night and threw a wrench into the Howard County cham­pi­onship race in the process, as it handed No. 2 Howard its first county loss, 25-23, 25-23, 18-25, 25-23.

The win pulls the host Ga­tors (10-1, 7-1) into a four-way tie for first with the Lions (9-2, 7-1), Mount He­bron (10-1, 7-1) and Atholton (8-3, 7-1) with three reg­u­larsea­son matches left.

“We can win. We can be at the top of this con­fer­ence,” Reser­voir coach Jamie Bul­lock said.

NO. 5 ATHOLTON D. LONG REACH, 3-0: Sam Miller had 11 kills and the Raiders beat the host Light­ning (3-6).

Atholton won, 25-20, 25-10, 25-20.
