Apartments planned for Boston Street corridor
An eight-story, 241-unit apartment complex would be the next addition to the Boston Street corridor under plans Baltimore-based WorkShop Development presented to the city Thursday. The project would continue the transformation of the area, a onetime industrial zone that has been converted into shopping, office and residential use. WorkShop has the 1.3-acre site under contract and hopes to start the 20-month construction project in September 2017, said partner Neil Tucker. The Canton/Brewers Hill submarket remains strong, Tucker said. WorkShop, a partner in the Shops at Canton Crossing, has plans for other residential buildings in Harbor East and Brewers Hill. The firm’s latest project, sandwiched between the Broom Factory and a senior housing building at 3400 Boston St., would be built in a kind of neo-industrial style.
