The se­nior for­ward had four goals and two as­sists in three games last week, in­clud­ing a goal against Sev­erna Park in Thurs­day’s Anne Arun­del County cham­pi­onship game, a 1-1 tie, lead­ing the Sea­hawks to a share of the county crown. In her sec­ond var­sity sea­son, Cheeks is the Sea­hawks’ lead­ing scorer with 12 goals and two as­sists; in­cluded in her to­tal are five game-win­ning goals. Af­ter a two-goal, two-as­sist per­for­mance in a 7-1 win over An­napo­lis on Oct. 17, she scored the lone goal in a1-0 win over Arun­del the next day. This week, South River rose to No. 3 in The Bal­ti­more Sun’s poll with a 13-1-1 mark. Cheeks, who also has played for the Spark club team the past four years, plans to play field hockey at Se­ton Hill while study­ing to be­come a physi­cian’s as­sis­tant.
