Killing sus­pect dies af­ter ap­par­ent sui­cide at­tempt

A Bal­ti­more man ac­cused in the killing of his girl­friend in GlenBurniedied­i­na­hos­pi­tal Sun­day, days af­ter an ap­par­ent sui­cide at­tempt, Anne Arun­del County po­lice said. Da’von Markell Mullins, 22, and Kayla Yow, 18, were found shot in her home Fri­day evening. Yow was pro­nounced dead on the scene, while Mullins was in a hos­pi­tal un­til he died, po­lice said. Po­lice char­ac­ter­ized the at­tack as a mur­der-sui­cide and charged Mullins with mur­der and other counts. The two had been in a re­la­tion­ship, ac­cord­ing to po­lice. The park is one of the largest play­grounds for chil­dren with spe­cial needs in the Bal­ti­more re­gion. said. Three fam­ily mem­bers es­caped the fire, which broke out shortly be­fore 6:30 a.m. Satur­day, the Mary­land state fire mar­shal’s of­fice said in a news re­lease. The bod­ies of the vic­tims have been taken to the chief med­i­cal ex­am­iner’s of­fice to con­firm the cause of death. The cause of the fire is un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion. No work­ing smoke de­tec­tors were found in the 21⁄ story wood-frame home, in­ves­ti­ga­tors said. Sev­eral fam­ily pets also died in the fire, which took 90 min­utes for fire­fight­ers to bring un­der con­trol.
