Du­rant, Curry lift War­riors over Suns

Kevin Du­rant scored 37 points, Stephen Curry added 28 and the Golden State War­riors held off the host Phoenix Suns, 106-100, on Sun­day.

The War­riors (2-1) didn’t seal the vic­tory un­til Curry’s two free throws with 12.9 sec­onds to play. Du­rant added a pair of free throws with seven sec­onds left.

T.J. War­ren scored 26 points and Eric Bled­soe had 21 for the Suns (0-3), who led by as many as 13 in the first half. Tyson Chan­dler had 18 re­bounds for Phoenix.

For­mer NBA player Shan­non Brown and three sons of well-known fa­thers were among the no­table picks in the 105-player De­vel­op­men­tal League draft. Brown, a two-time cham­pion with the Lak­ers who has played for eight NBA teams, was cho­sen in the sec­ond round by the Pis­tons’ af­fil­i­ate, the Grand Rapids Drive. The ninth over­all pick was Keith Hornsby, the son of Grammy-win­ning mu­si­cian Bruce Hornsby. Ben­ito San­ti­ago Jr, whose fa­ther spent two decades in the ma­jor leagues, was the 38th se­lec­tion.
