Man charged in Gambrills Sunday night stabbing
A 30-year-old man has been charged in a stabbing Sunday night in Gambrills, Anne Arundel County police said. Kenneth Whiting of Atwell Avenue in Bowie has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, as well as first- and second-degree assault. Police responded around 9 p.m. to Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, where they spoke to the victim, an adult male. The man was at the hospital’s emergency room to receive treatment for several minor stab wounds to his arms and midsection, police said. The man told police that he had been stabbed by his exgirlfriend’s husband, later identified as Whiting, during an argument at the Greene Turtle restaurant on Brandermill Boulevard, police said. Police arrived at the restaurant and located Whiting and arrested him. Ray Gayhardt, a general manager at the restaurant, said that the altercation occurred in the rear of the restaurant’s parking lot that it shares with other businesses and that none of the people involved entered the restaurant.
