Man charged in Gam­brills Sun­day night stab­bing

A 30-year-old man has been charged in a stab­bing Sun­day night in Gam­brills, Anne Arun­del County po­lice said. Ken­neth Whit­ing of Atwell Av­enue in Bowie has been charged with at­tempted first-de­gree mur­der, as well as first- and sec­ond-de­gree as­sault. Po­lice re­sponded around 9 p.m. to Bal­ti­more Wash­ing­ton Med­i­cal Cen­ter in Glen Burnie, where they spoke to the vic­tim, an adult male. The man was at the hospi­tal’s emer­gency room to re­ceive treat­ment for sev­eral mi­nor stab wounds to his arms and mid­sec­tion, po­lice said. The man told po­lice that he had been stabbed by his ex­girl­friend’s hus­band, later iden­ti­fied as Whit­ing, dur­ing an ar­gu­ment at the Greene Tur­tle res­tau­rant on Bran­der­mill Boule­vard, po­lice said. Po­lice ar­rived at the res­tau­rant and lo­cated Whit­ing and ar­rested him. Ray Gay­hardt, a gen­eral man­ager at the res­tau­rant, said that the al­ter­ca­tion oc­curred in the rear of the res­tau­rant’s park­ing lot that it shares with other busi­nesses and that none of the peo­ple in­volved en­tered the res­tau­rant.
