Ori­oles out­field prospect DJ Ste­wart has been se­lected to par­tic­i­pate in this week­end’s Ari­zona Fall League “Fall Stars Game.” The game, which will take place Satur­day at 8:08 p.m., will be broad­cast on MLB Net­work and streamed on MLB.com. At least one player from each team was se­lected to par­tic­i­pate. Ste­wart, who was the Ori­oles’ first-round draft pick in 2015, is hit­ting .222/ .375/.333 with no homers and five RBIs in 12 Ari­zona Fall League games play­ing for the Peo­ria Javeli­nas. He will play on the West Divi­sion Al­lS­tars. Short-sea­son Aberdeen pitch­ing coach Justin Lord will be the pitch­ing coach for the West Divi­sion, and high Class-A Fred­er­ick man­ager Keith Bodie will be a coach with the West. In his first full pro sea­son, Ste­wart, from Florida State, hit .254/.377/.399 with 10 homers, 55 RBIs and 26 for 35 on stolen base at­tempts be­tween low-A Del­marva and Fred­er­ick. Ste­wart saw his most suc­cess as a pro once he re­ceived a pro­mo­tion to Fred­er­ick in May, hit­ting .279/.389/.448 with six homers and 30 RBIs in 59 games. Guy Award, which is given to the na­tion’s top col­lege punter. Barta is av­er­ag­ing 43.3 yards per punt on 11 punts with a long of 55. Four of his 11 punts have been fair caught and four have been 50 yards or more. Ten semi­fi­nal­ists for the award will be an­nounced Fri­day and the three fi­nal­ists will be named Nov. 22. The win­ner will be an­nounced live on ESPN dur­ing the Col­lege Foot­ball Awards on Dec. 8. … Navy’s Ken Ni­u­mat­alolo was named one of 18 coaches on the mid­sea­son watch list for the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Award. Ne­braska’s Mike Ri­ley, Ohio State’s Ur­ban Meyer, Michi­gan’s Jim Har­baugh and Wis­con­sin’s Paul Chryst were also se­lected. MEN’S COL­LEGE SOC­CER: Frost­burg State sopho­more Carvell Akuffo (Reser­voir) was named Cap­i­tal Ath­letic Con­fer­ence Of­fen­sive Player of the Week. COL­LEGE FIELD HOCKEY: Mary­land se­niors Welma Luus and Emma Rissinger were named to the Na­tional Field Hockey Coaches As­so­ci­a­tion Divi­sion I Se­nior Game, which will be played Nov. 19 in Nor­folk, Va., the site of the NCAA cham­pi­onship. WOMEN’S COL­LEGE SOC­CER: Ju­nior mid­fielder Natalie Dzhandzha­pa­nyan was named to the All-Pa­triot League sec­ond team, and team­mates se­nior for­ward Rachel Feld­man, ju­nior for­ward Meghan He­garty, ju­nior for­ward Clare MacA­dam and ju­nior de­fender Me­gan Rogers were placed on the third team. Loy­ola Mary­land se­nior de­fender Ni­cole Wahlig was se­lected to the sec­ond team. NBA: For­mer Mor­gan State guard Rasean Simp­son was se­lected by the Santa Cruz War­riors in the De­vel­op­ment League Draft on Sun­day. Simp­son was taken with the sec­ond pick of the fifth round by Santa Cruz, which is the of­fi­cial af­fil­i­ate of the Golden State War­riors. Simp­son was present for Santa Cruz’s player work­out in Oak­land, Calif., ear­lier this month. He com­pleted his se­nior sea­son with the Bears by start­ing in 21 of 25 games played, and av­er­aged12.2 points and 6.8 re­bounds per game. —
