New America and Trumpistan

Baltimore Sun - - FROM PAGE ONE - John Barrere, Baltimore

Given the deep divisions in the country, I think it is time to seriously consider splitting the United States into East America, West America and Trumpistan. East and West America would form a new federal New American government based upon the present principles of the U.S. Constitution. Trumpistan could have whatever form of government they want.

Since residents of what would become Trumpistan (“Trumpsters,” which rhymes with dumpsters) currently get more money from Washington than they pay in taxes as a group, New Americans should see lower tax rates. Citizens of Trumpistan would then be responsible for their own costs of repairing hurricane and tornado damage, maintenance of their portions of interstate highways, etc.

There should be a brief period (maybe a year) where no-fault emigration from and immigration into New America would be freely permitted. After that, any persons wishing to emigrate to New America would be subject to “extreme vetting” and strict quotas would be established.

New America would consist of the present states east of the Pennsylvania and Ohio border and north of the Potomac as well as those portions of Washington, Oregon and California west of the coastal mountains. For the first year up to 10 states in Trumpistan could vote to join New America (“Trexit”). Retention of any these “Trexit” states as part of New America would be subject to reauthorization by the New American government every three years. Hopefully, these measures would serve as incentives for former Trumpsters to refrain from electing childish brats to serve as New American senators, representatives and presidents.
