St. John’s re­ceives two $25 mil­lion do­na­tions

St. John’s Col­lege re­ceived the largest sin­gle do­na­tion in school his­tory this week­end — twice. Ron Field­ing, a 1970 grad­u­ate, and War­ren Spec­tor, a 1981 grad­u­ate, an­nounced they would each give $25 mil­lion to the col­lege dur­ing the school’s Board of Vis­i­tors and Gover­nors meet­ing in An­napo­lis on Satur­day. The largest share of the com­bined $50 mil­lion gift will go to­ward the col­lege’s en­dow­ment, where it will sup­port aca­demics, fi­nan­cial aid and ca­reer ser­vices, the col­lege said in a news re­lease Satur­day.
