Schroder, Hawks hand Cavs 1st defeat
Dennis Schroder scored a career-high 28 points and the Hawks handed the Cavaliers their first loss of the season, 110-106, on Tuesday night in Cleveland.
The defending NBA champions cut a 96-81 deficit early in the fourth quarter to 101-97 on LeBron James’ basket with 3 minutes, 14 seconds to play. The Hawks scored the next six points, but 3-pointers by James and Kyrie Irving (29 points) made it 106-103 with 48 seconds left.
The Hawks led by two when Kent Bazemore (25 points) hit a corner jumper with seven seconds left to put the game away.
