Man found fatally shot in Cherry Hill
A 27-year-old man was shot and killed in the Cherry Hill neighborhood of South Baltimore on Wednesday night, police said. The man was found around 9:15 p.m. in the 2900 block of Cherryland Road with gunshot wounds to his back. He was pronounced dead at a hospital at about 10 p.m. Police said the shooting stemmed from a fight that happened nearby earlier. In a separate incident, a man was shot in the leg in Southwest Baltimore. Police found the 42-yearold victim around 8:20 p.m. in the 400 block of S. Longwood Street in the Gwynns Falls neighborhood. Police said the shooting happened after an altercation. Police had no more details on the shootings. Howard County to install snowplow-tracking system
Howard County will spend $44,000 to launch a new “cutting-edge” snowplow-tracking system in mid-December, replacing one the county has used for more than a decade, County Executive Allan H. Kittleman announced Tuesday. The county’s fleet of Department of Public Works vehicles will be outfitted with152 automatic vehicle locators designed by AT&T and BSM Technologies. Another 25 “plug-and-play” locators can be installed in contractor vehicles, feeding data to the same system to give the public a better look at snow-removal progress.
