A Trump miracle?

Baltimore Sun - - NATION & WORLD - Larry Yeatman, Towson

Do you believe in and pray for miracles? I do, and lots of other folks do as well. Donald Trump supporters will, no doubt, regard his election as an example of such divine and unexpected intervention. So be it. But why be contented with only one answered prayer? Why not pray for another political miracle as well?

Imagine a President Trump who possesses the valor of George Washington when he led American colonists in the fight for independence. Imagine a President Trump who possesses the courage of Abraham Lincoln when he ended slavery or the determination of Franklin Roosevelt when he helped save the world from Nazi domination. Imagine a President Trump who possesses the bold imagination of John Kennedy when he championed the goal of putting the first man on the moon. Imagine a President Trump who possesses the legislative skill of Lyndon Johnson when he shepherded the passage of the Civil Rights Bill. Finally, imagine a President Trump who possesses the decency and dignity of Barack Obama when he faced unrelenting bigotry for being the first darkskinned American president. If President Donald Trump can develop and display the virtues of valor, courage, determination, imagination, legislative skill, decency and dignity, then my prayers will have been answered. We will all have witnessed a miracle.
