Trumbo re­ceives AL Sil­ver Slug­ger honor

Orioles out­fielder Mark Trumbo won his sec­ond post­sea­son award in as many days Thurs­day, re­ceiv­ing his first ca­reer Sil­ver Slug­ger award. Trumbo, who led the ma­jors with 47 home runs this past sea­son, earned the Play­ers Choice Award for Amer­i­can League Come­back Player of the Year on Wed­nes­day. In his first — and pos­si­bly only — sea­son with the Orioles, Trumbo, 30, now a free agent, set ca­reer highs in homers, RBIs (108), slug­ging per­cent­age (.533), runs (94), hits (157) and to­tal bases (327). He is the first Ori­ole to win an Amer­i­can League Sil­ver Slug­ger award since 2013, when Chris Davis, J.J. Hardy and Adam Jones re­ceived the honor. WORLDBASEBALLCLASSIC: Orioles out­fielder Hyun Soo Kim was an­nounced as one of three ma­jor lea­guers on South Korea’s pro­vi­sional ros­ter for the tour­na­ment that runs from March 9-22 dur­ing spring train­ing.
