Davis sparks Pelicans to 1st victory
Anthony Davis hit two free throws with 12 seconds left and scored 32 points as the Pelicans won their first game, beating the Bucks 112-106 on Thursday night in Milwaukee.
E’Twaun Moore added 20 points for the Pelicans, who had started 0-8. The 76ers (0-7) are the only winless team left in the NBA. Jabari Parker scored a season-high 33 points for the Bucks, who lost their second straight game to a team that was winless. In their previous game Sunday, the Bucks fell 86-75 in overtime to the Mavericks, who had been 0-5.
The Nuggets filed a protest over a disputed call with 0.7 seconds left in a loss to the Grizzlies on Tuesday. However, the NBA has had only one end-of-game replay since the 1982-83 season. ... An MRI exam showed no damage to Wizards G Bradley Beal’s left leg, though he is listed as questionable for Friday’s game against the Cavaliers because of hamstring tightness.
