A graffiti artist has created a four-story mural honoring The Jackson 5 in the group’s hometown of Gary, Ind.

The city commissioned local artist Felix “Flex” Maldonado Jr. and his assistant, Omar “OMS” Marin, to paint the mural on the side of a vacant building. The black-and- white artwork features all five members, including late pop superstar Michael Jackson. The artists used hydraulic lifts to paint the nearly 200-foot-by-200foot mural. It took them about two weeks.

The mural is about 2 miles from the Jackson family home in Gary.

The Times newspaper in northwest Indiana reports that Maldonado painted a similar but much smaller mural in another Gary neighborhood, and it was very popular. Tiffany Tolbert of Indiana Landmarks says people are constantly stopping to take photos of it.

“Beverly Hills, 90210” cast members paid tribute to ailing costar Shannen Doherty, who is being treated for breast cancer and didn’t take part in a “90210” reunion panel in Chicago over the weekend. Luke Perry, whose character had an on-screen romance with Doherty’s, told the audience Saturday that Doherty was “a very big part of the success of the show.”

Actor Ed Asner is 87. Actor Sam Waterston is 76. Actress Beverly D’Angelo is 65. Actress Shailene Woodley is 25.
