FBI seek­ing sus­pect in five area bank rob­beries

Fed­eral au­thor­i­ties are search­ing for a sus­pect in five bank rob­beries in the Bal­ti­more area in the last two months — in­clud­ing two in the span of about a half-hour Wed­nes­day. In the first known in­ci­dent, the sus­pect robbed the BB&T Bank at 15125 Town Cen­ter Place in Pikesville about 2:30 p.m. Oct. 17, ac­cord­ing to the FBI. He walked in, pre­sented a note to a teller an­nounc­ing a rob­bery, and fled with an un­known amount of cash. The same man is also sus­pected in the rob­bery of SunTrust Bank at 7699 Har­ford Road in Parkville on Nov. 4, the FBI said. Five days later, he robbed the BB&T Bank at 1510 Fleet St. in Bal­ti­more, the FBI said. On Wed­nes­day, the sus­pect robbed the M&T Bank at 432 South Broad­way just af­ter 4 p.m., then robbed another M&T Bank at 1725 Whetstone Way just af­ter 4:30 p.m., the FBI said. A re­ward of up to $5,000 is of­fered for in­for­ma­tion lead­ing to the ar­rest and con­vic­tion of the man, the FBI said. Au­thor­i­ties say he should be con­sid­ered armed and danger­ous. The FBI re­leased a photo of the sus­pect taken by a se­cu­rity cam­era and asked any­one with in­for­ma­tion to con­tact the FBI Vi­o­lent Crimes Task Force at 410-265-8080.

O’Mal­ley won’t seek DNC chair po­si­tion

Less than a week af­ter float­ing his name for the job, for­mer Gov. Martin O’Mal­ley said Wed­nes­day he will not run to lead the Demo­cratic Na­tional Com­mit­tee. “The DNC needs a chair who can do the job fully and with to­tal im­par­tial­ity,” he said in an email to sup­port­ers. O’Mal­ley said last week that he was tak­ing a “hard look” at the job. Min­nesota Rep. Keith El­li­son cap­tured the back­ing from sev­eral party lead­ers be­fore he for­mally an­nounced his can­di­dacy. The party chair­man is a post that takes on added sig­nif­i­cance when the opposite party con­trols the White House. The chair of the out-of-power party plays an es­pe­cially im­por­tant role in or­ga­niz­ing for the next elec­tion. found alone and safe at a fast-food restau­rant in Hous­ton. Univer­sity of Mary­land Po­lice got a call shortly be­fore 8 a.m. Wed­nes­day from Hous­ton po­lice that she had been lo­cated. Po­lice said Tues­day night that Ge­orge was filmed by a se­cu­rity cam­era board­ing a bus in Bal­ti­more that was trav­el­ing to Wash­ing­ton and Vir­ginia.
