FBI seeking suspect in five area bank robberies
Federal authorities are searching for a suspect in five bank robberies in the Baltimore area in the last two months — including two in the span of about a half-hour Wednesday. In the first known incident, the suspect robbed the BB&T Bank at 15125 Town Center Place in Pikesville about 2:30 p.m. Oct. 17, according to the FBI. He walked in, presented a note to a teller announcing a robbery, and fled with an unknown amount of cash. The same man is also suspected in the robbery of SunTrust Bank at 7699 Harford Road in Parkville on Nov. 4, the FBI said. Five days later, he robbed the BB&T Bank at 1510 Fleet St. in Baltimore, the FBI said. On Wednesday, the suspect robbed the M&T Bank at 432 South Broadway just after 4 p.m., then robbed another M&T Bank at 1725 Whetstone Way just after 4:30 p.m., the FBI said. A reward of up to $5,000 is offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the man, the FBI said. Authorities say he should be considered armed and dangerous. The FBI released a photo of the suspect taken by a security camera and asked anyone with information to contact the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force at 410-265-8080.
O’Malley won’t seek DNC chair position

Martin O’Malley said Wednesday he will not run to lead the Democratic National Committee. “The DNC needs a chair who can do the job fully and with total impartiality,” he said in an email to supporters.
