Fi­nal­ist named for Penn Sta­tion de­vel­op­ment

Am­trak an­nounced Wed­nes­day that it has se­lected three teams to com­pete to lead the rede­vel­op­ment of Bal­ti­more’s Penn Sta­tion and nearby properties owned by the quasi-pub­lic pas­sen­ger rail­road. Am­trak plans to choose a mas­ter de­vel­oper next sum­mer to lead de­sign, con­struc­tion and man­age­ment of the properties and non-rail parts of the sta­tion. The fi­nal­ists are Penn Sta­tion Part­ners, led by Bal­ti­more’s Beatty De­vel­op­ment Group and in­clud­ing Ar­mada Hof­fler Properties and Cross Street Part­ners; Peebles-AZ Bal­ti­more Penn, led by Peebles Corp., one of the coun­try’s largest minority-owned real es­tate firms, in­clud­ing Bal­ti­more’s AZ Group, Wil­liams Jack­son Ewing and Marks, Thomas Ar­chi­tects; and Brandy­wine Re­alty Trust, a Penn­syl­va­nia real es­tate in­vest­ment trust which is work­ing on the Philadel­phia 30th Street Sta­tion and leads a team in­clud­ing Ay­ers Saint Gross and Pinkard Properties.
