Syl­van Learn­ing agrees to ex­pand to Viet­nam

Syl­van Learn­ing has signed an agree­ment with a Viet­namese in­vest­ment group to ex­pand its pro­gram­ming to English-lan­guage schools there. Through the part­ner­ship, Syl­van’s STEM (science, tech­nol­ogy, en­gi­neer­ing and math) pro­grams will be of­fered at the 31 schools man­aged by Viet­nam In­vest­ments Group. The pro­gram will be­gin rolling out in schools this month. The ex­pan­sion to Viet­nam comes as the Hunt Valley-based ed­u­ca­tion com­pany make a big­ger push into in­ter­na­tional mar­kets, in re­sponse to ris­ing in­ter­na­tional de­mand for STEM train­ing. The com­pany cur­rently has three cen­ters in Hong Kong and eight in the Mid­dle East. With 750 ed­u­ca­tion cen­ters in North Amer­ica, Syl­van is known for its tu­tor­ing and exam prep train­ing. It added STEM pro­grams, in­clud­ing robotics, coding, en­gi­neer­ing and math, within the last few years.
