The se­nior out­side hit­ter was the dom­i­nat­ing player in Satur­day’s Class 3A state ti­tle match as No. 3 Atholton de­feated Da­m­as­cus to win its first crown since 1989. In the Raiders’ 17-25, 25-21, 25-18, 25-22 vic­tory, Miller fin­ished with18 kills and12 digs at Maryland’s Ritchie Coli­seum. In the state semi­fi­nal Nov. 14, a three-game sweep against Tow­son, she had 11 kills, eight digs and five aces as the Raiders won, 26-24, 25-19, 25-19. A four-year var­sity player, Miller and the Raiders have come a long way since the team went 2-13 dur­ing her fresh­man year. This sea­son, Miller, a cap­tain, fin­ished with 296 kills, 183 digs and 61 aces to lead the Raiders to a 15-4 mark. She has com­mit­ted to play at Millersville (Pa.) Univer­sity.
