Man killed, another injured in Annapolis shooting
One man was killed and another injured in a shooting on Clay Street in Annapolis on Saturday night, police said. Scotty Moss Jr., 24, of Annapolis died of gunshot wounds, police said. He is the city’s 10th homicide victim of the year. Annapolis has had more homicides in 2016 than any year in its history. Officers responded to the first block of Clay St. at 10:24 p.m. for multiple reports of shots fired, police said, and found two shooting victims. A 34-year-old man from Glen Burnie suffered wounds that were not deemed lifethreatening, police said. He was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center. The Clay Street area has been the scene of several reports of shots fired this year. In September, Walter “Buck” Bryan Jr. died after he was shot outside his home on Pleasant Street, near where the road intersects with Clay Street. Detectives are investigating Saturday night’s shooting, and police are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Chuck Bealefeld at 410-260-3439 or firstname.lastname@example.org. To submit an anonymous tip, people may call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-877-7LOCKUP. Tips that lead to arrests or indictments may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000. Fire Department spokesman said. Fire personnel were called at 8:25 p.m. to the 800 block of South Broadway, where the man suffered thirddegree burns — the most serious— to 50 percent of his body, said fire spokesman Roman Clark. The man was taken to a hospital, Clark said. Fire investigators responded, and Clark said the incident remains under investigation. The circumstances of how the man was burned were not immediately known.
