2 men shot in Federal Hill during early-morning fight

Baltimore Sun - - MARYLAND -

Two men were shot during an early-morning fight in Federal Hill, Baltimore police said Sunday. Around 2 a.m., police responded to the first block of E. Cross St., where they found two men shot. Police arrested 24-year-old Steven Perkins of Annapolis and charged him with several counts of attempted murder, assault, and various handgun related offenses. A lawyer for Perkins could not be found in online court records. Police said Perkins was involved in an argument with a group of people in the block when he pulled out a handgun and fired at them. He missed the group he was arguing with and struck two passers-by. One man was shot in the foot, and the other was grazed by a bullet, police said. Both were taken to hospitals, and their conditions were not immediately known. Baltimore police don’t identify the victims of nonfatal shootings. Several witnesses identified Perkins to officers as the shooter, and he was taken into custody. Police also recovered a handgun.
