Dylan skips meeting with president too
Bob Dylan is not only skipping the ceremony in Stockholm awarding him the Nobel Prize in literature. He also skipped meeting with the president Wednesday.
President Barack Obama was scheduled to meet Wednesday with several American winners of the Nobel Prize at the White House before they officially accept their award.
But White House spokesman Josh Earnest said, “Unfortunately, for those of you wondering, Bob Dylan will not be at the White House today, so everybody can relax.”
Earnest says Dylan didn’t give a reason, but he notes that Dylan and the president had met previously and that “the president enjoyed meeting him.”
Bob Dylan, who received the Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama in 2012, did not return Wednesday for Obama’s meeting with Nobel Prize winners.
