Kamenetz stands by students

Baltimore Sun - - FROM PAGE ONE - Jon McGill, Baltimore

I wish to congratulate and support Kevin Kamenetz (“Kevin Kamenetz offers support for ‘sanctuary campuses,’ pokes at Larry Hogan on immigration,” Nov. 28) for his sturdy and morally sound call to higher education institutions not to act on any efforts to identify and thus deport immigrant students, so many of whom have been in the country for decades and hope to remain as good and active citizens.

His stance demonstrates a backbone that clearly Rep. Andy Harris has yet to find, given his advice that colleges and universities should fall in line lest they place their federal funding in some danger. Congressman Harris should be reminded that he should stand for something, lest he fall for anything.
