Molding on the tall cabinet and upper cubby, top left, hides the door-hinge holes and dresses up the frames. Stephanie lined the inside with plywood for interest and added a clothes rod and low shelf. Stephanie cut the base cabinet down to a good bench height: 18 inches tall (with seat). She used a circular saw for the first cuts, a jigsaw to get close to the wall, and a handheld rotary tool for the detail work. A stained wood panel became the seat, which hides supportive bracing. Molding finishes the bench front.
