Sage & Orange Peel Throat Soother Tea

Sage is a fab­u­lous an­tibac­te­rial, and it s pun­gent, bit ter, aro­matic com­pounds stim­u­late me­tab­o­lism and ac­ti­vate the im­mune sys­tem. It lends it self well to treat­ing com­mon ail­ments, in­clud­ing colds and the flu, sore throats, stom­ach bugs, in­di­ges­tion, ton­sil­li­tis, and mouth sores. The ad­di­tion of Manuka honey to this tea makes it es­pe­cially sooth­ing in cases of a sore or in­flamed throat, and it bal­ances the bit ter fla­vor of sage. ¼ cup fresh sage or 2 tsp. dried 1 Tbs. grated or chopped

orange zest 3 cups boil­ing wa­ter 1 Tbs. Manuka honey,

or to taste 1. Com­bine the sage and orange peel in teapot or jar, and pour in boil­ing wa­ter. Cover with lid, and let steep 5– 15

min­utes.

2. Strain, and sweeten with Manuka honey to taste. Drink ½ cup, hot, ev­ery 1– 2 hours to soothe a sore throat or symp­toms of a head cold.
