Craft beer lovers, rejoice! This host has been used to brew beer for more than 1,200 years. Plant common hop in sandy, well-draining soil, and make sure there’s plenty of room because this vine grows up to 26 feet long. It always winds clockwise and has a root system up to 16 feet deep.
Why we love it: Historically, this plant is important. Native Americans used it to induce sleep and treat rheumatism, pneumonia and nervousness.
