MICHAEL CHRISTOPHER BROWN
The Last of the Silverbacks, p62
The real surprise of photographing mountain gorillas in Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Brown says, was that they “were such gentle creatures. They’re so large and so strong. I expected something more jumpy.” Brown is a contributor to National Geographic, the New York Times, and Magnum Photos. His book Libyan Sugar (Twin Palms Publishers) is out now.
