Keep St. Pat’s green

- — Swanee Hunt, Cambridge The writer is founder of Demand Abolition and former U.S. ambassador to Austria. — Edward Donegan, Milford

The gay community has LGBT pride month to fly its rainbow flags and banners proudly (“Three cheers for the Irish!” March 20). And while I certainly thank the members of OutVets for their service to our country, there already are Memorial and Veterans days and gay pride month to fly their rainbow flags and banners proudly.

On the other hand, the Irish of Boston have one day to celebrate their heritage, during the St. Patrick’s Day parade. The only flags and banners to be flown should be the American, Irish and green shamrocks.

Poor Southie, to be part Boston — the hub of the liberal progressive agenda in the bluest of the blue states, Massachusetts.
