Gonzaga has never made it to the final weekend, and the Bulldogs may never be better equipped to get there than this season. But the Zags will need to overcome years of falling short. They've made it to the sweet 16 seven times since 1999, but just twice advanced to the Elite Eight. solving West Virginia and its vaunted press is no easy task, either. On the flip side, Kansas will be trying to reach the Final Four for the first time since 2012. The Jayhawks were a top seed both last year and in 2013 and couldn't get out of their region, but they have a favorable road to Phoenix with Purdue and potentiall­y Oregon or Michigan in the regional final.
