Haverhill man charged after 2 stabbed near pub
A Haverhill man faces two counts of attempted murder, accused of stabbing two men outside a Haverhill pub early yesterday morning, prosecutors said.
Hayden Delafuente, 21, was arrested and charged with two counts of armed assault with intent to murder and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, according to a statement from the Essex District Attorney’s Office.
Delafuente is expected to be arraigned tomorrow in Haverhill District Court.
Authorities said Delafuente stabbed two men about 1:30 a.m. outside the Barking Dog Ale House on Washington Street yesterday.
A 28-year-old man from Lawrence was airlifted to Boston where he remained in critical condition yesterday afternoon.
A second victim, a 30-year-old man of Salem, N.H., was treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening at Lawrence General Hospital.
The incident remains under investigation, authorities said.
