Officers risked careers to make a stand
Hats off to state troopers Ryan Sceviour and Ali Rei for courageously exposing this squalid scandal and blowing the lid off the hackerama’s attempt to suppress embarrassing facts about the arrest of a connected judge’s drunk-driving daughter.
The colonel of the state police, Richard McKeon, has already “retired” over his despicable attempts to protect the judge, with whom he used to work in Worcester. But more hack heads must roll.
The troopers risked their careers to make a stand, refusing their superiors’ outrageous demands to cover up the details of the arrest.
And now both cops are in federal court trying to get to the bottom of what Rei’s suit describes as the hacks’ “improper and illegal scheme to destroy public records, court records and alter police reports.”
Gov. Charlie Baker must be very proud. Ditto, the Massachusetts judiciary.
Let the depositions begin, starting with McKeon, who said Friday that he’s altered “thousands” of embarrassing arrest reports. Colonel, raise your right hand and please start telling us about every time you’ve ever fixed an arrest report. Remember, you’re under oath.
Colonel, is this service just available for the children of judges you know, or do you fix cases for any judge who calls? And how many state reps’ arrest reports have you “changed” over the years?
Last month, troopers Sceviour and Rei were ordered to falsify their OUI arrest reports of Alli Bibaud. She’s the daughter of Judge Timothy “Let ’em Go” Bibaud, a made hack with 35 years at the public trough, so he must be Good People, right?
If they didn’t obey their superiors’ direct orders, they understood, they might be fired.
Fired, for telling the truth, that the judge’s daughter, herself a former hack Mass Pike toll taker, had admitted to them that she was a junkie who got the money to buy heroin by selling her body.
Troopers Sceviour and Rei refused to follow the illegal orders, and I think Paragraph 72 of trooper Ali Rei’s complaint nicely sums up the hacks’ M.O.:
“The defendants’ conduct was extreme and outrageous, beyond all bounds of decency and utterly intolerable in a civilized community.”
Yes, but we’re not in a “civilized community” here. We’re stuck in the halls of justice, where the only justice is in the halls.
The two named defendants in trooper Rei’s lawsuit are the “retired” McKeon and the superior officer in Holden who actually directed the conspiracy — Major Susan Anderson. She makes $193,809 a year. Let’s go back to the Rei lawsuit:
“45. Major Anderson indicated that her orders were coming from Col. McKeon and Secretary of the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security Daniel Bennett.”
Both of whom used to work in the Worcester District Attorney’s office, speaking of which ….
“52. On Oct. 26, 2017, a website published a report indicating that DA Joseph Early had contacted Col. McKeon and arranged to have the reports altered.”
That would be turtleboysports. com, which broke this scandal. Great work, Turtleboy!
With Sceviour, the hacks first threatened him with “discipline” if he didn’t falsify his alreadyfiled Bibaud arrest report. Sceviour lives on the South Shore, and the brass ordered him to drive 90 miles to the Holden barracks, falsify the reports and then deliver the cover-up documents to the hack-infested Worcester DA’s office.
That was the bad news for trooper Sceviour. The good news was, they offered to pay him overtime. That’s life in the hackerama.
The Rei case has been assigned to federal Judge George O’Toole Jr. At least he knows where the bodies are buried — O’Toole was a state judge himself for 13 years, and he was born in Worcester, where this whole squalid episode went down.
I just hope troopers Sceviour and Rei can get some justice — and some scalps. And maybe the rest of us can finally get to live for once in “a civilized community.”
