Not very bright of the MIAA (“Girls empowered through sports,” Nov. 4). All the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association needed to do was present Emily Nash with a replica trophy, as in: Congratulate her for having the winning golf score and give her a deserved pat on the back.
Though not the winner under MIAA rules, that would recognize her worthy achievement. Instead MIAA officials will be labeled as dinosaurs, with a permanent ongoing question of their competence.
In contrast, Nash has conducted herself with such dignity.
