MIAA ‘di­nosaurs’

Not very bright of the MIAA (“Girls em­pow­ered through sports,” Nov. 4). All the Mas­sachusetts In­ter­scholas­tic Ath­letic As­so­ci­a­tion needed to do was present Emily Nash with a replica tro­phy, as in: Con­grat­u­late her for hav­ing the win­ning golf score and give her a de­served pat on the back.

Though not the win­ner un­der MIAA rules, that would rec­og­nize her wor­thy achieve­ment. In­stead MIAA of­fi­cials will be la­beled as di­nosaurs, with a per­ma­nent on­go­ing ques­tion of their com­pe­tence.

In con­trast, Nash has con­ducted her­self with such dig­nity.
