Maureen E. Wester, 77, resident of Salem

Maureen E. (Senior) Wester of Salem died Tuesday at NSMC/ Salem Hospital. She was 77.

She was born in Leicester and raised in Worcester.

She was employed by GTE Sylvania in Salem and later in Danvers for more than 25 years.

She had a passion for the Service Dog Project of Ipswich, which breeds, raises and trains Great Danes to become mobility service dogs, and kept track of every dog there.

Mrs. Wester is survived by her husband of 60 years, Richard T.; three sons, Richard O. of Hollis- ton, Ronald T. of Ledyard, Conn., and Thomas E. of Newburypor­t; a daughter, Karen A. of Salem; seven grandchild­ren and a greatgrand­child.

Graveside service will be private.
