Dead­li­est school at­tacks in his­tory

The shoot­ing at Mar­jory Stone­man Dou­glas High School in Park­land, Fla. — yes­ter­day where 17 were killed as of last night — is one of the worst school mas­sacres in U.S. his­tory. Here are others:

32 were killed and 17 in­jured by gun­man Se­ungHui Cho at Vir­ginia Tech in April 2007. It re­mains the dead­li­est at­tack on a school in U.S. his­tory.

26 were killed and two in­jured at the Sandy Hook El­e­men­tary School in De­cem­ber 2012. The gun­man, Adam Peter Lanza, 20, took his own life after the as­sault on the school in his home­town of New­town, Conn.

14 were killed and 31 wounded in Au­gust 1966 at the Univer­sity of Texas in Austin. For­mer Marine sharp­shooter Charles Whit­man fired away from high above in the U.T. Tower.

13 were killed dur­ing the 1999 at­tack at Columbine High School in Lit­tle­ton, Colo. Eric Har­ris, 18, and Dy­lan Kle­bold, 17, also wounded 24 more.
