For Gordon County Commissioner District 5, incumbent Kevin Cunningham will face Fairmount resident Kathy Ryan.
Clerk of Superior Court incumbent Grant Walraven is running unopposed.
For the office of Coroner, incumbent James Carver will face opposition from Thomas Funeral Home funeral director Justin Thomas.
Judge of Probate Court John R. “Richie”
Parker is running unopposed in his race.
In the Gordon County Sheriff race, incumbent Mitch Ralston will face Calhoun Police Department officer Jim Banks.
Scott Clements, the current Gordon County Tax Commissioner, is running unopposed.
Gordon County Board of Education Post 2 incumbent Jason Hendrix is running unopposed.
For Gordon County Board of Education Post 4, incumbent Bobby Hall will face local farmer Jeff Knight.
For Gordon County Board of Education Post 6, incumbent Chris Johnson will face Baptist minister Mark Johnson.
For Chief magistrate, incumbent Ricky L. Silvers faces opponents Larry Bain and Pat Rasbury.
At the state level, State Senator Chuck Hufstetler ( Rep.), of District 52, faces no opposition.
State Senator Charlie Bethel ( Rep.), who covers District 54 including parts of Gordon County, faces opposition in Conda Lowery-Goodson ( Rep.).
District 5 State Representative John Meadows ( Rep.) is also running unopposed.
S t a t e Representative District 11 incumbent Rick Jasperse ( Rep.) will face no opposition during the General Primary, but will face Democrat Brandon D. Crisp in November.
Judge of Superior Court Suzanne Smith and District Attorney Rosemary M. Greene are both running unopposed.
For the United States Senator office, incumbent Republican Johnny Isakson has opposition in Derrick Grayson and Mary Kay Bacallao, both Republicans. Democrats Cheryl Copeland, James Knox, Jim Barksdale and John F. Coyne III will also be on the ballot.
United States Representative District 14 will see a race between incumbent Tom Graves (Rep.) and Allan Levene ( Rep.) of Rome, and Mickey Tuck ( Rep.) of Silver Creek.
