Week of May 22
Applications for Clovers & Company, the Georgia 4-H performing arts group, must be turned in by May 27. Auditions for the group, which is composed of more than 50 4-H singers, dancers, instrumentalists and production crew members from across the state, will be held on June 12 or 13 at Rock Eagle 4-H Center.
Submissions for the 4-H Photography Contest must be submitted by May 27. This contest allows 4-H’ers of all ages an opportunity to participate. Categories include Agriculture, 4-H Youth, 4H Adult, 4-H Service and General Photography. The top ten photos in each division will advance to compete for prize money and ribbons at the Georgia National Fair; the top 20 photos from each division will be displayed at the annual State 4-H Congress.
Georgia 4-H’ers are invited to participate in the 4-H June Dairy Month poster contest; submissions must be turned in by May 27. The theme of this year’s contest is “Get More with Milk” and is sponsored by the Southeastern United Dairy Industry Association, Inc.

Senior Camp will be held May 30-June 3 at Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton for 9th-12th grade students. The dead- line for applying for camp scholarships has passed but scholarships will continue to be considered on a rolling basis.
Week of June 5
Cloverleaf Camp will be held June 6-10 at Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton for nine year olds through sixth grade students. The deadline for applying for camp scholarships has passed but scholarships will continue to be considered on a rolling basis.
Wilderness Challenge Camp will be held June 6-10 at Wahsega 4-H Center in Dahlonega for students age 12 through eighth grade. The deadline for applying for camp scholarships has passed but scholarships will continue to be considered on a rolling basis.
Week of June 12

4-H Music Education Matters Summit. Want to make some music? Georgia faculty members and Georgia 4-H and volunteers will lead approximately 100 4-H youth and adults from across the country in three-day summit experience. Youth participants will work with 4-H staff, volunteers, and special guests who will provide instruction and mentoring on a variety of topics. Participants will be trained on a set of core competencies (tools of the trade, teamwork, music business, basics, songwriting) as well as receive specialized instruction in their areas of interest (vocal, instrumental, dance, and music production). Georgia 4-H Pantry PrideRecipeContest. Plans are underway for our third annual 4-H Pantry Pride Recipe Contest in partnership with the Georgia Food Bank Association, the Arby’s Foundation and the Georgia National Fair. This contest is to challenge 4-H’ers to think creatively about food and cooking by developing recipes using ingredients commonly found in Georgia Food Banks. Anyone 4th-12th grade can submit a recipe. All recipes must be submitted to Gordon County 4-H by July 29. All entrants will receive a prize and a certificate and will have their recipes included in a digital cookbook. The top 16 high school 4-H’ers will be invited to the state contest held at the Georgia National Fair in Perry on October 9. Week of July 31
Georgia 4-H Watermelon Growing Contest. The Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association, along with the Georgia Watermelon Association, are sponsoring this year’s 4-H Watermelon Growing Contest. The state winner with the heaviest watermelon will receive $100. The second and third place winners will receive $50 and $25, respectively. The watermelon must be weighed by the 4-H office by August 5. Please see this link for more details.
