Ro­tary Golf Tour­na­ment to be held Oct. 4

For those seek­ing an ex­hil­a­rat­ing day on the links cou­pled with an op­por­tu­nity to give to a wor­thy cause, the Cal­houn Ro­tary Club is hold­ing the Cal­houn Ro­tary Golf Tour­na­ment at Fields Ferry Golf Course on Wed­nes­day, Oct. 4.

Reg­is­tra­tion for the event in­cludes 18 holes of golf and lunch for each player. To en­ter, it costs $ 400 to reg­is­ter a team, and $ 100 to reg­is­ter as an in­di­vid­ual. Hole spon­sor­ships are avail­able.

Prizes and com­pe­ti­tions in­clude claim­ing first or sec­ond place, two flights, par 3, clos­est to pin and long­est drive.

A $ 1000 One Shot Give­away will also take place at the event, and it is in­cluded in the en­try fee. Each player that en­ters the tour­na­ment will have a chance to earn $1000. As each group passes the putting green dur­ing each round, play­ers will have the chance to sink a 10 foot putt. Each player that makes the putt qual­i­fies to take aim from the 100- yard marker on the 18th hole once all teams have com­pleted a round. The player that gets clos­est to the hole gets $ 1000.

Reg­is­tra­tion time for the event be­gins at 11 a. m., with a box lunch served shortly af­ter.

Pro­ceeds from the event will be uti­lized in sup­port of the Cal­houn Ro­tary’s ef­forts in help­ing the youth of Cal­houn and Gordon County.
