Gordon County Vet­er­ans, Inc. makes flag do­na­tion to Cal­houn Rec

Gordon County Vet­er­ans, Inc. this week pre­sented an Amer­i­can Flag to the Cal­houn Recre­ation Depart­ment, lo­cated on River Street in Cal­houn.

The flag is for the flag pole that was in­stalled by Bryant Mathis as an Ea­gle Scout pro­ject in Au­gust 2014.

Gordon County Vet­er­ans, Inc. rep­re­sen­ta­tives Barry Roberts and Britt Gates pre­sented the flag to Cal­houn Recre­ation Direc­tor Kim Townsend.

“Cal­houn Recre­ation Depart­ment greatly ap­pre­ci­ates the men and women that make up the Gordon County Vet­er­ans, Inc. and their ser­vice to our coun­try,” said Townsend.

Gordon County Vet­er­ans, In­cor­po­rated of­fi­cially opened their doors at 1219 B US 41 North in July. The bar for vet­er­ans of­fers theme nights such as Bike Nights, Ladies Night and Karaoke night. They also per­form com­mu­nity ser­vice projects such as item do­na­tions for hur­ri­cane re­lief.
