BB Team to have first meet­ing on Thurs­day

On Thurs­day, Sept. 28 at 7 p. m., the Gor­don County 4-H BB Team will have its first meet­ing at the Gor­don County Live­stock Pav­il­ion. The BB team is open to 4th- 8th graders. This meet­ing is manda­tory for those youth want­ing to join the team and their par­ents, as the coaches will be pro­vid­ing an over­view of the sea­son, the prac­tice sched­ule, dis­cussing equip­ment re­quire­ments, and most im­por­tantly, re­view­ing safety pro­ce­dures. The coaches will be able to pro­vide guid­ance on what equip­ment is needed, so youth are not re­quired to have a BB gun prior to join­ing the team. The fee to par­tic­i­pate in the BB Team is $ 55 to cover the costs of reg­is­tra­tion for com­pe­ti­tions, tar­gets, county equip­ment, team t- shirts, and in­surance re­quire­ments. Prac­tices will be held weekly on Tues­day evenings through the fall, Thurs­day evenings in Jan­uary and Fe­bru­ary, and then twice weekly on Tues­day and Thurs­day evenings be­gin­ning in March. Dis­trict com­pe­ti­tion is ten­ta­tively set for Satur­day, April 14 and state com­pe­ti­tion will be May 4- 6.
