The Alzheimer’s As­so­ci­a­tion will host a Care­giver Work­shop from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Tues­day, Dec. 5 at Cal­houn Sev­enth-day Ad­ven­tist Church. Those in at­ten­dance will have the op­por­tu­nity to learn from Ge­ri­atric Nurse Prac­ti­tioner Su­san Greene. Su­san will present The Ba­sics – Mem­ory Loss, De­men­tia, and Alzheimer’s Dis­ease. The work­shop pro­vides care­givers of Alzheimer’s dis­ease and other de­men­tias an op­por­tu­nity to in­ter­act with other fam­ily care­givers. The pro­gram is free and in­cludes lunch. MOMS Club of Cal­houn is a new lo­cal chap­ter of an in­ter­na­tional non­profit group. MOMS Club is a sup­port group de­signed for the at-home mother of to­day. Mem­ber­ship is open to all moms who live in Gor­don County. Events are sched­uled week­days dur­ing the day and chil­dren are wel­come at all events. Moth­ers of any age chil­dren are wel­come. The goals of the group are to pro­vide a sup­port group for moth­ers who choose to stay at home to raise their chil­dren, pro­vide a fo­rum for top­ics of in­ter­est to all moth­ers, to help chil­dren in the com­mu­nity and per­form at least one ser­vice project yearly help­ing needy chil­dren.
