Lori Manning Designs

Cape Coral Living - - Features - BY ANN MARIE O’PHELAN

When Lori Manning designs a residential or commercial project, she brings a dazzle, experience and professionalism to each space she touches. She adds the right furniture, the right window and wall treatments, the right lighting and the right flooring—one room, a whole house or an entire building. “I am a full-service designer who has a lot of passion for what I do,” says Manning, owner of Lori Manning Designs, a Fort Myers firm specializing in residential and hospitality design, new home model merchandising, window and wall treatments and resale consulting. Lori Manning’s residential design signature is everywhere, from Sanibel to Estero to Punta Gorda, as well as in resort, hospitality and commercial properties. 'Tween Waters Island Resort & Spa on Captiva, Sundial Beach Resort & Spa on Sanibel, and Tundra Homes in Cape Coral, for which her design won best of show in the 2013 Cape Coral Construction Industry’s Showcase of Homes, are just a few of the properties in her portfolio. Manning has worked on new home merchandising with developers such as Burnt Store Marina in Punta Gorda and Stoneybrook at Gateway in Fort Myers. She’s also put her design skills to work on vacation rentals in Cape Coral and Estero. Lori Manning’s career began nearly 30 years ago in Gillette, Wyoming, where she owned a furniture and design company, relocating to Southwest Florida in 2000. She also serves The Woodlands in Texas. When working with clients, Manning often gets involved before a home or space is built or during a remodel. Armed with blueprints, she’ll assist with space planning and furniture layouts so that costly errors―such as over/under furnishing or having the wrong-sized furniture for a room―are not made. Room purpose and other details are considered in her design consulting. With residential design, Manning also decides placement of objects and artwork for best effect and to better complement space. There are times when Manning has her own ideas for artwork, too, which may incorporate murals, faux finishes and wall coverings. “I work to make my client’s homes their sanctuary, their style and their showpiece,” says Manning, explaining that there is no cookie-cutter approach to design.

Remodeling, redecorating or rearranging, her firm does it all
