As a child in Austria, Barbara Dolleschal dreamed of living in America. Not only has her wish come true but has exploded into something never imagined― co-founding U.S. operations in Florida for a European-based business with her husband, Andreas. The couple opened a Zotter Chocolates shop in Cape Coral in August 2015. The Austrian chocolate company is the brainchild of Josef and Ulrike Zotter, among the best known and most highly decorated chocolate-makers. The Dolleschals and Zotters met in 2004, the Dolleschals' firm providing technology services to the growing something―Zotter Chocolates. “Over the years,” she says, “we became one of the biggest fans of his product. So many things make it exciting, from the way they take care of employees to their concern for the environment … It’s the whole package, not just a really great product; it’s honest and it feels good.” Zotter is a chocolate-maker not a chocolatier, the difference being that a chocolatier crafts confections. The chocolate-maker, on the other hand, sources, harvests, roasts and grinds cocoa beans.
